Introduction

This course focuses on the practical issues of contingent valuation and choice experiments. A goal of the course is that the student should come away with a good idea of how to apply the most recent techniques that are used. Therefore, a significant amount of time is allotted to implementation within existing econometric packages. Examples and exercises make up a central part of the course. Course participants are presented with data sets originating from applications in resource economics, transportation and marketing research.

The instructors are  Dr. Bengt Kriström, Professor of Resource Economics at CERE (www.cere.se), Dr. Pierre Mahieu, CERE and Dr. Benedicte Rulleau, Université de Versailles-Saint-Quentin en Yvelines.

Prerequisites

Participants should be familiar with an econometrics package. Students should read the background material before starting the course.
